Researchers to Discuss History of Alamo

The Alamo will be the site of a history forum Saturday, complete with coffee and five expert researchers discussing such topics as the Spanish and Mexican archives and Alamo collectibles.

The forum is being hosted by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas' Board of Management and is designed to share and foster research and education on Texas history.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. the fee is $5 with the program expected to run from 9 a.m. to about 12:30 p.m.

The presenters and their subjects are: Adan Benavides, "Discovering the Past's Voices and Faces: Sources for the History of Spanish and Mexican Texas"; George Nelson, "Illustrated History of the Alamo"; Katherine Adams, "Texas Impressions: Graphic Arts and the Republic of Texas"; Jesus de la Teja, "Juan Seguin"; and William Green, "Alamo Collectibles".
