Matamoros Battalion Flag Mexican tricolor inscribed with "Batallon Matamoros Permanente." Named for a hero of the Mexican Revolution, Mariano Matamoros. The battalion served with Santa Anna in his invasion of Texas and was with him at the Alamo. The Matamoros Battalion flag was captured at San Jacinto by Texas forces.
