SONS OF DEWITT COLONY TEXAS The Journal of John Baker The following are pages showing family birth and marriage dates from a leather covered journal of John Baker, brother of Alamo Defender Isaac Baker and member of the Gonzales Alamo Relief Force. The original journal is thought to be in the hands of descendants. Isaac Baker's birthdate is shown as 15 Sep 1814 noting that he fell in the Alamo fighting in the cause of Texas 6 Mar 1836 at "age 20 years, 6 months and seven days." If the entry is correct, then John Baker's calculation is off somewhat and should have been 21 years, 6 months, 22 days).
