Balch and Patterson markers are in a row on the far west end of the cemetery opposite the entrance. In the center of the cemetery is a listing of sites, weathered but readable. The Patterson markers above begin with John F. Patterson, born Jan 7, 1884; died Nov 6, 1903; Inscription "How many hopes he buried here." J. A. Patterson, born Jul 16, 1858; died Nov 16, 1883; Inscription "A loving husband, a father dear." Child Balch. Mrs. A. Balch (listing says Ann Patterson Balch). J.F. Patterson was a son of John A. and Elizabeth Thornton Patterson. John A. Patterson was the oldest son of Warren W. and Mary Ann Wier Patterson. According to a Patterson descendant, Valeska Vicars, Ann Patterson Balch, may have been a sister of W.W. Patterson. The main Patterson marker (third from front above) is a tall spire. On the southside is Warren Washington Patterson and on the northside of the marker is data for Mary Elizabeth Patterson, Jan 22, 1875; Oct 1, 1878. Mary Elizabeth was the youngest child of W.W. and Mary Ann Wier Patterson. Small stone markers for both are on each side. Near the Pattersons at the right and behind the standing individual is a state of TX marker for Isaac D. Hamilton who came to TX in 1836 and escaped the Goliad Massacre.
