Elizabeth J. Crawford was born 8 Nov 1840 and died 19 Sept 1846. Felix Grundy Crawford was born 1 May 1843 and died 17 May 1932 Oakville, Live Oak Co., TX. After Mahala died, Felix and Elizabeth were left in the care of Mahala’s relatives until Henry R. married Ann Wilson on 6 Jan 1848. Felix Crawford left considerable memoirs of his life.   He married his cousin Mary Zumwalt, daughter of Jesse Caton and Lucy Minter Zumwalt, on 11 Aug 1870 in CaldwellCo. Mary was born 29 Dec 1853 and died 15 May 1936 Oakville, Live OakCo, TX. Felix and Mary lived in Comal, Coryell, Brown (he was in BrownCo. when the 1880 census was taken, neighbor to his half brother, John W.W. Crawford), and Travis counties before settling in Live OakCo 15 Nov 1890. There he owned a great deal of land and they raised nine children. (Information from Mary Jo Crawford)

In the photo from the files of Zelma Tyree Richardson, a descendant of Adam Zumwalt Sr., is believed to be William Christopher Zumwalt at left with either sister (seated on his left), Caroline Burnam and her children, Sara, Mary and John, or Adaline House and her children, Matilda, Diana and Harvey. Inscribed on the back of the photo by daughter of William Christopher and Letsie Weems Zumwalt was the words "Papa---Aunt and children."

Children of Jesse Caton Zumwalt & Lucy Minter

Mary Zumwalt was born 29 Dec 1853 and died 15 May 1936 Oakville, Live OakCo, TX. Mary Zumwalt married her cousin Felix Grundy Crawford on 11 Aug 1870 in CaldwellCo. Felix Grundy wrote; "The father of my wife was a Ranger, fighting wild Indians in the Republic of Texas. He showed me wounds on him made by arrows." Felix and Mary lived in Comal, Coryell, Brown (BrownCo. when the 1880 census was taken, neighbor to half brother, John W.W. Crawford), and Travis counties before settling in Live OakCo 15 Nov 1890. They raised nine children. John Zumwalt's wife Eunice Lawrence was daughter of Washington and Harriett (Rylander) Lawrence.  Children were Alice, who married Lewis Ussrey, who lived in San SabaCo and later moved to Mesquite, TX; Ervin (Erwin), who married a Miss Eustis, and moved to BurnetCo; and Minnie. James Zumwalt and Mary Eustis had a son Earnest Caton Zumwalt (m. Minnie L. Tinklea or Finklea) and possibly others named John, James, and Josie. (Information from Mary Jo Crawford)
