Effect of jetty on trees
An Italian jetty. Before the jetty was built, mangroves grew on both sides of the jetty site. After the jetty was built, trees died out south of the jetty.

Reforestation of dead area with fertilization
Trees growing on the side of the jetty where trees had died out. The trees are planted with nitrogen, phosphorus and iron. The largest tree is one of the few survivors after the jetty was built. It has grown considerably after we began to apply fertilizer.
