Cedar Creek looking southwest from the hwy 63 bridge as it courses toward the Missouri.  Note the large amount of water which could easily carry rafts and flatboats.

The mighty Missouri River at the hwy 70 bridge at St. Charles as it courses toward the Mississippi River at St. Louis.  This view is from the St. Charles waterfront.  Old St. Charles has been restored into a nice historic and recreational area with plenty of  restaurants, shops, historic markers and cultural events.  The Zumwalts and allied families were no doubt often and influential in St. Charles having come to the area along with the Boone family and others from Kentucky.  Near this point is where the Lewis and Clark expedition stopped at the beginning of its westward exploration of the river.
